- A social story (also called a visual narrative) is a short, illustrated sequence that describes a situation, skill, or event in a way a child can understand. They were developed by Carol Gray in 1991 and are widely used by SLPs, special educators, and families to help children with autism and developmental delays navigate everyday situations.
- StoryPath is a Progressive Web App (PWA), which means it works on any modern browser — iPad, iPhone, Android, Chromebook, Mac, or PC. No app store download required. Stories can also be saved offline so they work without WiFi during therapy sessions or on-the-go.
- Yes — StoryPath is free to start with no credit card required. The free plan includes 3 stories, 1 child profile, and basic templates. Paid plans start at $4.99/month and unlock unlimited stories, offline access, and the ability to share with professionals.
- SLPs can share a story directly with a family using a secure link. Families can view stories immediately without an account, or create a free account to save and use stories independently. The SLP retains control over whether families can edit or reshare stories.
- Yes. StoryPath is designed to be COPPA compliant. We collect only what's needed, never sell data, and never show ads. School districts can request a Data Privacy Agreement (DPA) for institutional use. Read our Privacy Policy for full details.
